Timeless tradition
A 7-Day Creative Process
From start to finish, our Handpainted Silk Collection takes a full 7 days to craft, making it unlike any other silk robe you’ll find.
These modern, botanical designs are first hand-sketched onto 100% silk.
Then, talented artisans, who’ve passed down this timeless tradition over generations, paint each one of the sketches by hand, creating the beautiful botanical scene.
Next, they handpaint the rich watercolor onto the silk background, saturating every inch of the fabric. Finally, they sew the final touches by hand.
From these handcrafted techniques come original works of wearable art.
Each kimono robe is truly unique, with minor variations from piece to piece, making each silk robe one of a kind.
The Beauty in every piece
Exclusive KIM+ONO Designs
Blending inspiration from vintage Asian art with their contemporary aesthetic, sisters Renee and Tiffany Tam intentionally design every piece. The botanical scenes come alive on delicate silk fabric, creating a canvas to drape over your body and inspire you to appreciate the beauty in every piece.
Our signature designs can only be found at KIM+ONO.

With Love & Care
The Experience
Your limited edition Handpainted Silk Kimono Robe is one-of-a-kind, and will be beautifully hand-wrapped in our traditional Furoshiki Gift Wrap.
Our team intentionally wraps every piece by hand, placing your kimono robe into the traditional wrapping, sending it out with love and care, and providing a luxurious experience for whoever opens this unique piece of art.
The traditional cloth gift-wrapping is a touch of heritage, making gifting it to others (or yourself) an experience full of meaning.
The Last of a Long Line of History
Limited Edition
The handpainting production process is a time-honored tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. As this traditional production process is no longer possible, the art form will soon be retired, making these beauties truly the last of a long line of history, inspiration, and timeless techniques.
Meaningful symbolism
The Perfect Gift
Whether for a wedding day, special birthday, or momentous occasion, the Handpainted Silk Collection offers a truly unique way to show how you care.
SHOP HANDPAINTED SILKCherry Blossom
The cherry blossom represents renewal. As the flower of the spring, it symbolizes the fleeting nature of life and the botanical embodiment of the idea that “every dawn is a new day”.
Crane
The crane is a symbol of longevity and peace, and when pictured among florals, a crane stands for prosperity, longevity, and purity.
Lotus
The lotus is a powerful symbol of enlightenment, the highest form of conscious awareness, and represents inspired self-regeneration and rebirth.
Peacock
The peacock stands for immortality — the manifestation of the phoenix rising from the ashes. For us, it also symbolizes love, good will, nurturing, and a kind heart.
