Our Biggest Congratulations to Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton on Their Intimate Wedding

We were so thrilled when we found out Gwen Stefani wore one of our KIM+ONO kimono robes during her intimate wedding earlier this summer! Whenever our brides bring a little bit of kimono style into their wedding planning, we are always so grateful to be a small part of their big day — and with Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding, that was no exception!

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's Wedding

Gwen and Blake’s Hollywood wedding starred all the beautiful and sweet little details you’d expect from a family wedding affair. Her veil, by Vera Wang, was embroidered with Gwen and Blake’s names, as well as her children’s names, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. Weaving in their own love for family struck such a chord with us because each and every one of our kimono robes — from our bridal robes to our kimono wraps to our plus size kimono robes — are woven with our own love for family, and the traditions and heritage that have built our brand. Whenever you’re wedding planning, as a bride or groom, you are adding in the details, with thoughtfulness and love, to make your intimate wedding day one for the books. So we are absolutely humbled that Gwen Stefani chose our Peony & Bird Kimono Robe when getting ready for her wedding day.

A Beautiful Hollywood Wedding Detail

And the beautiful part of wearing one of these pieces is the connection it makes in our community! As Gwen Stefani unveiled all the details of her wedding day, our customers joined in on the well wishes:

“Omg Gwen knows how glamorous one can feel in your Kimonos, congratulations!” -- @dabemoiselle

“😍😍 im wearing my silk black peacock robe... ❤️ how amazing for your company! More people need to buy @kimandono_ 🔥” -- @tiger_lily_pdx

We know that slipping into these bridal kimono robes is just the beginning of the journey for each of our customers. It starts as your bridal kimono robe, then you may take it on your honeymoon as a beach kimono cover up, and at some point down the line, you may even wear it as a nursing robe. As your life evolves, so does your favorite kimono robe — which is what we shared with People magazine when they featured Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding this week!

Getting Ready for Your Wedding Day

If you’re a bride-to-be like Gwen Stefani was, then you have a wonderful array of options for bringing these bridal kimono robes into your own special day. The most popular way is the way Gwen chose to wear her Peony & Bird Kimono Robe when getting ready for her wedding. You can pick the classic white base like she did, or go with any color that speaks to you and your wedding day palette. You can also gift these pieces to your bridesmaids, so that all of you are getting ready for the wedding day in kimono style that’s beautiful and functional at the same time. Or you can give your mother and mother in law to be the gift of silk and washable silk with their own beautiful floral kimono robes. You can’t go wrong when picking out your favorite. Gwen Stefani chose the Peony & Bird Kimono Robe in white, with beautiful accents of a bird gently resting on a branch, and the classic peony flower. The bright flowers to coordinate with your other wedding planning details is one unique way to tie the whole day together.
