Wearing It Well: Kendall Chase Takes a Kimono Robe on the Road

One of our absolute favorite things to see is when you take your kimono style on the road with you. We love travel and we love simplicity, and that’s why we think kimono robes are the best pieces to pack when you’re headed out of town. They’re lightweight, can be worn out with a dress and heels, or worn in to just lounge and relax. The versatility of kimono fashion makes hitting the road easy, so you can enjoy the trip without the hassle of over-packing.

A Green Kimono Robe & a Getaway

Earlier this fall, blogger and fashion influencer Kendall Chase did just that. She took a jaunt to the gorgeous Japanese inspired boutique hotel Gaige House + Ryokan and she brought her green kimono robe with her for a relaxing weekend. Read on to see how she made the most of a quick getaway:

Last week, Katie and I had the luxury of spending a few days up in Calistoga wine tasting up a storm at some of our favorite spots, but when the drinking was done? We checked into Gaige House + Ryokan, a Japanese inspired boutique hotel in Glen Ellen.

It was the perfect way to end the trip because we had gotten all our “activities” (🍷) done and were ready to just loungeeeee. Gaige House hit the spot….at least the large tub definitely did…which I bathed in twice over 24 hours. 😂”

A Long Kimono Cover Up to Take Poolside

Not only can you wear your green kimono robe in your hotel room or out to dinner as a lightweight jacket — but it also serves as a great poolside fashion addition. Kendall wore her long kimono cover up to the pool, elevating an already relaxing moment to Zen level.

“There isn’t much to do in the town of Glen Ellen so I’d plan on doing what Katie and I did and lock yourself in the room and VEG. OUT. Why would we want to leave when the rooms are UHmazing. (complete with sake and mochi too). 😋 We only surfaced to enjoy golden hour on the deck, with the included (and endless) wine and cheese spread because, duh! Finishing off the night by starting a fire and watching our favorite show from an insanely comfy bed. I kill for moments like these. ❤️

While I didn’t dive into any of the Japanese traditions that inspire the hotel, sitting poolside in my kimono was enough of a zen moment for me. 😉”
