How to Build Your Fall Style Around Your Kimono Robe

Posted by Renee & Tiffany on

Fall is in full swing, and we couldn’t be happier. The fall season is one of our favorites because the changing season offers you a chance to change up your style. As the temperatures shift and you find yourself pulling those heavier items from the back of your closet, it’s a perfect time to refresh your style and try out some looks you might not otherwise try.

But that doesn’t mean you have to buy a whole new wardrobe. In fact, we think you can build a whole new style off of one piece — you guessed it: a kimono robe. Though kimono robes are a luxurious way to start and end your day at home, that’s no reason to keep them locked up during the day. In fact, kimono robes are so versatile, that you can revamp your whole fall stye around them. From your head to your toes, here are some tips when building a fall wardrobe around your kimono robe.

Use a Black Lace Kimono to Play with Different Fits

From a tightly cropped top to balloon pants, we love how Eunice played with different fits in one outfit. And her black lace kimono is the perfect complement to her shifting fits and textures. By choosing the classic color of black and the classic texture of lace, her kimono robe brings a groundedness to her playful look.

Defy “The Rules” with a Long Green Kimono Robe

We know the rules: don’t wear white after labor day. But with this long green kimono, a monochromatic base layer of white or cream makes this whole outfit pop. Choosing the olive green color drops you into the fall mood, but defy the rules and find ways to bring pieces you thought were shelved for the season back into play. All by adding one piece — your long green kimono robe.

Bring Out Your Beautiful Braids

Sometimes, the simplest way to update your style is to update your hairdo. We adore how Kat Ensign made her side braid and chignon the star of her style show; and her kimono jacket only spotlights it more. With a sweet and simple side braid, you’ll already be turning heads, but pair that with a gorgeous kimono jacket and you’ve got a look that’s runway-ready.

Give a New Twist to Your Classic Black Boots

You may not want to give up your classic black boots for fall, and we understand that. But by simply pairing them with a short kimono cardigan like Shelby Albo did, you’re giving those classics a refresh. Pull out some of your favorite classic looks from the back of your closet, pair them with a short kimono cardigan, and all of a sudden you have a brand new style for fall. Easy as that.

No matter your fall style, one kimono robe can make the difference in bringing your looks to life. Don’t be afraid to test the limits of how far your kimono robe style can take you, and you may end up with a new signature look.
