Timothée Chalamet Is BritishVogue’s First Solo Male Cover Star. For the first time in BritishVogue’s 106-year history, this month a man is flying solo on our cover. Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful says "[...] Forever conscious of BritishVoguebeing a space that celebrates women first, I didn’t want a solo man on the cover to be a stunt or a statement. I wanted it to feel effortless, and then one day, it did. With a style so innate and self-assured that it inspires women and men alike, he was the perfect fit."

A Vogue Tradition

British Vogue has commemorated the passing of three monarchs in its 106-year history, George V, George VI and now Elizabeth II have all been saluted and memorialised with a royal purple cover free from any adornment. Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful says "It Is A Farewell From Vogue. More Than That, It Is A Thank You.” On page 170, the worlds of fashion, culture and politics share their fondest memories of Her Majesty, while on page 164 we look at the special bonds that run through the generations of women who precede and succeed her, as captured in the magazine through the decades.

Stars of the Screen

Dream-weaving, scene-stealing, agenda-setting: right now, our eyes are trained on our screens – and the women lighting them up – like never before. To capture the moment, British Vogue sets its sights on four of today’s sharpest TV talents, and has created four beautiful covers featuring Elizabeth Debicki, Simone Ashley, Sienna Miller, and Yasmin Finney.

This issue also marks the five-year anniversary of Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful's first ever issue of British Vogue, and he has highlighted that " from the corridors of power to the stories we see on stage and screen – there is no denying progress has been made. In that spirit, for this issue’s cover story we celebrate that glorious, and increasingly glamorous, leveller: television."
